Process Engineer (m/f/d) - Plant Development

Become part of the climate revolution!

Role overview

You will be responsible for the conception, design and optimization of test stands and pilot containers for our innovative plasma-based processes. You will shape the entire engineering process—from process planning to technical implementation—and ensure that our systems meet safety, efficiency and scalability requirements. You will contribute your expertise in mechanical, thermal and fluid dynamic principles and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of experts. We are seeking a process engineer or chemical engineer with a passion for innovative process technologies, technical acumen and a systematic approach to design our plants and enable industrial success of our technology.

  • Planning, design and specification of new systems for CO₂ and exhaust gas valorization
  • Creation, maintenance and checking of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) as a central basis for basic and detailed engineering
  • Processing of process and P&I flow diagrams and derivation of equipment lists and specifications
  • Process engineering design and specification of equipment (e.g. pumps, heat exchangers, reactors)
  • Implementation of basic and detail engineering as well as support for scale-up processes
  • Implementation of installation and layout plans and support during construction, assembly and commissioning
  • Use of process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) for design and calculation
  • Creation of technical documentation and interface coordination with purchasing, development, partners and suppliers
  • Support with safety and risk analyses (e.g. HAZOP)
  • Coordination and management of projects

Your profile

  • Completed studies in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering with a process focus or comparable qualification
  • At least three years of experience in plant engineering, preferably in chemistry, process engineering or energy processes
  • Understanding of thermal, fluid dynamic and chemical processes
  • Experience in basic and detailed engineering of process plants (pilot or industrial)
  • Knowledge in creation of P&ID schemes and process engineering tools
  • Experience with process simulation (e.g. Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD, AutoCAD Plant, EPLAN) desirable
  • Understanding of process automation and interfaces to electrical engineering is an advantage
  • Systematic, analytical thinking with attention to detail
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and with external partners and suppliers
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX, explosion protection) is an advantage

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of reactors and chemistry; I&C technology familiarity
  • Agile project management approaches (Scrum, Kanban)

Benefits

  • Steep learning curve in an innovative company
  • Opportunity to contribute to climate change solutions
  • Flexible hours and hybrid work options
  • High degree of personal responsibility
  • Access to modern facilities and training
  • Work on sustainable CO₂ and exhaust gas utilization technology
