Job Description
Join Cailabs’ Systems Engineering team and play a key role in maintaining product configuration control throughout the entire product lifecycle.
As a Configuration Management Engineer, you will be at the heart of the interfaces between Engineering, Industrial Operations and Support Functions, with responsibility for ensuring consistency across product configurations, versions and changes.
This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to build, structure and continuously improve configuration management practices, working closely with teams with complementary areas of expertise.
Reporting to the Head of Systems Engineering, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Your role will be to ensure consistency across different functions and facilitate effective control of product changes throughout the product lifecycle.
You will be responsible for structuring, deploying and coordinating product configuration management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement configuration management rules and processes.
- Drive the adoption and application of these rules across the relevant functions.
- Ensure consistency across the Sales, Design, Manufactured and Maintained product baselines and repositories.
- Manage product versions, baselines and product instances.
- Lead product change processes, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Lead and coordinate impact analyses related to product changes and evolutions.
- Deploy and maintain the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Ensure consistency and effective interfaces between design and production repositories.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency and ongoing maintenance of technical databases related to product configuration.
Profile Required
You have a technical background and solid professional experience that has enabled you to develop a strong understanding of industrial products and their development lifecycles.
Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Industrial Systems Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, or a technical degree (Bac+2) with more than 10 years of industrial experience.
Strong product and systems engineering knowledge, ideally covering optics, electronics, mechatronics and software.
Strong expertise in product configuration management, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and version control systems.
Proficiency with PLM / ERP tools.
Experience working in multidisciplinary environments.
Experience in systems architecture would be an advantage.
Advanced English proficiency is required.
