Job overview

You’ll build the backend systems and integrations that make Kelluu’s autonomous airship platform work in the real world. You'll build standardized, automated and reliable integrations to external systems that will enable our customers to get real-time data they can trust.

We’re a Finnish deep-tech company, headquartered in Joensuu with offices in Helsinki and Tampere. We’ve just closed our Series A, the team is growing fast, the goals are ambitious, and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters. Our technology is flight-proven and operational. We’re a NATO DIANA alumni with several thousands of hours of autonomous BVLOS flight experience, active programmes across multiple nations, and a rapidly growing team. We operate in both defence and civilian markets: the same technology that supports border security also monitors critical infrastructure and the environment.

Why this role exists

Kelluu is integrating with multilateral defense frameworks and sovereign government environments, and we're actively developing the process. We need someone to build standardised, automated integration pipelines, harden our infrastructure, and make our platform something customers can plug into with confidence.

Your responsibilities

Own the backend systems and integration layer that connects Kelluu’s platform to the outside world.
Build standardised integration pipelines that replace manual, error-prone processes — so customers get reliable, real-time data without our team hand-holding every connection
Automate infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment so the platform scales with the business
Define and maintain well-documented API interfaces to simplify customer integrations
Improve internal engineering quality from code standards to testing pipelines
Prototype and build production pipelines for new capabilities as Kelluu expands into new domains and markets

Team and culture

Work across software and operations teams. The team is collaborative, knowledge-sharing, and ownership-driven. Communication with customers is a plus.

What success looks like

3 months: relationship-building, domain understanding, contribution to codebase, architecture questions
6 months: deep platform understanding, lead code reviews, mentor juniors, define best practices
12 months: cross-domain contribution, improved internal practices and product impact

Requirements

Strong backend skills with Python and Go
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or Azure)
Hands-on with message brokers like RabbitMQ or similar
Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows and tools like Claude
Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Fast adaptability and self-organization
Ownership mindset and continuous knowledge sharing
Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

Frontend experience
Interest in aerospace, defence, or autonomy domain
Experience communicating with customers about technical topics

Benefits and practicalities

Full-time, permanent. Salary: 4800-5500€/month. Benefits include healthcare, lunch, culture, sports and wellbeing (Epassi), phone. Flexible, distributed work.
