Workshop Technician / CNC Operator (CAM)
Role Overview
Are you our new Workshop Technician / CNC Operator? At Lace Lithography, we are developing a brand-new production method for manufacturing microchips. We are based in Bergen and Barcelona, backed by some of the world's most ambitious investors. This is a distinct R&D and prototyping role focused on CAM programming and 5-axis CNC machining in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- CAM Programming & 5-Axis CNC Machining: Program and operate a new 5-axis CNC mill to manufacture precision components, jigs, and prototypes.
- Close Collaboration with R&D: Translate ideas and sketches into physical test components on short notice.
- Two-Person Workshop Management: Daily operations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance across CNC equipment, laser cutters, and other machinery.
- Laser Cutting & Laser Welder: Prototyping and part customization.
- Daily Operations & Maintenance: Ensure operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC, laser cutter, and workshop facilities.
- Inventory Management & Logistics: Goods receipt, workshop layout, logging parts.
- HSE & Documentation: Ensure compliance with Norwegian HSE standards, safety inspections, and equipment histories.
Required Qualifications
- CAM Expertise: 2+ years with CAM programming and CNC milling. 5-axis experience is a major plus.
- Trade Certificate: CNC operator, mechanic, industrial assembler, precision mechanic, or equivalent (significant relevant experience can compensate).
- Practical & Mechanical Experience: Troubleshooting and maintenance experience; Heidenhain controls are advantageous; interest in 3D printing is a plus.
- Driver's License: Class B and forklift certificate.
- Languages: English proficiency.
- Personal Qualities: Self-driven, detail-oriented, structured, collaborative, and safety-focused.
